Nightlife
In Punta Cana the nightlife begins just before midnight – when people finished dinner and start to think about music and dancing, especially Merengue, one of the world’s most contagious rhythms. The local bars and discotheques are frequented by visitors and locals alike. Some of these are:
Mangu Discotheque & Bar
The name comes from a Dominican dish made with mashed bananas, which is one of the every-night typical dishes for the Dominicans.
Mangu Discotheque is located at the Occidental Flamenco Hotel and is open every night. The Mangu Bar features a giant screen where soccer, football, baseball, boxing, racing, and other games are showing, while having a late night snack with friends. At the Mangu Discotheque customers can enjoy music, drinks and have fun while dancing the night away with Merengue, Bachata, Salsa, Rock, Reggae music and the latest hits from Europe and USA.
